The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit? Proverbs 18:14
I just sat down to read my bible, I just started a new reading plan trying to read my bible on a daily basis. Today I sat down very broken searching for something and Proverbs 18 was part of my reading today, God is so cool I am constantly amazed by his love and mercy and even correction. The scripture that stood out to me was Proverbs 18:14 The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit. I think this hit home due to some crushing of my spirit last night. Feeling this way makes me want to be so very careful how I speak to those I love from now on. I don't ever want my stinging words to crush my boy's spirits, or my husband's. Proverbs 18 is about words and principles for making good decisions. Proverbs 18:21 The tongue can bring death or life;those who love to talk will reap the consequences. When you are about to tell someone how awful they are or exploit what they have done wrong, remember a time when someone spoke words that crushed you and be so very careful about what you say. It is so easy to say hurtful things when you are mad, take a few moments to pray take a deep breath and let the Holy Spirit do your talking.

God is good
Tonight I get the privlidge to give my testimony at a women's group, it is amazing how things continue to change in my life. I had my first meeting with group about the after school group I am starting with the same name as this blog, super cool. I am so excited about what God has in store for me, my family and my church and my community. Just trying to make a difference every day in the name of Jesus :)

Choose this day whom you will serve as for me and my house we will SERVE the Lord.
Recently I have been accused of being over zealous in my christian walk by someone I dearly love. Those weren't the words used exactly the words were, all that we, my family, did was church and that it was too important. At first I was very annoyed by this and it has been a stress on my relationship with this person. I was thinking on this today in church and I now know that I am proud to be called overzealous. We go Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night and Thursdays to cowboy church. We also go to various bible studies and things in the community. We have strong ties with three churches in town, which work together very well in the community. So yes we spend a lot of time in church.
However we don't just play church, we don't sit like a bump on a log or sleep during church. We are following God's will in our life. We get to pray with numerous people, we get to participate in healing, we get to minister to people. I love it, my kids love it! We aren't playing church we are being the church. Church not only uplifts us and strengthens our relationship with God, it gives us a chance to encounter and uplift other believers. I feel so very blessed to get to pray with others and encourage others!!!
Choose this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. This is just part of the scripture. So fear the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshipped when the lived beyond the Euphrates river and in Egypt. Serve the Lord alone. But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods of your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Ammorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord. NLT Joshua 24:14-15
Me an my family ARE choosing to serve the Lord!!!!!! I pray my children are overzealous in their christian walk. This is a good thing. I know that me and my family are called to do big things in God's name. We pray to do his will, and his will is for us to serve him and our community in all of our church going. Wednesdays we get to hang out with the youth kids and teach and be good examples. Travis teaches Sunday school and we do children's church. All the rest of the time in church we are willing vessels and we get to be part of some awesome stuff. We are called to do this. We live differently as we are supposed to. No one is supposed to just go to church sit and listen an leave, we are called to do more. God has bigger things in store for us and I know some of them are drastic, and to tell you the truth I can't wait. So if I am called overzealous now there is more to come. We are choosing to Serve the lord, we want to be his willing servants and we try really hard not to say no to the Holy Spirit and yes that makes us overzealous!!! Now when I think of being put in that category it excites me because it is a confirmation that we are doing what we are supposed to.
I don't mean to sound boastful but I feel like what we do is fulfilling a purpose. I am not perfect by any means. I repent daily and I have to remind myself to surrender daily but I continue to seek him every day . I also don't want anyone to think that this is how everyone should live or that attending alot of church is what everyone needs to do. There is no magic trick to salvation, and everyone has to work out their own salvation. This is just what me an my family are called to do. It also isn't just about church, it is about living your life for God and making him priority #1. I am going to borrow this from Brother Ryan, God is an all consuming fire and he changes us to change our atmosphere, If I do nothing with who I am how will the world know who God is. That was from this mornings sermon. Good stuff!!!!

Going on a walk
Today is an exciting day for me I am going on a walk to Emmaus tonight till Sunday night. I have a feeling God is going to do amazing things for me and the others who attend. A very sweet girl from work is going with me and I am so very excited to see what happens because I felt led to ask her if she was interested in going.
From what I have read this morning about the walk to Emmaus it is a spiritual renewing, something to make you stronger in your faith, to build you up to be a stronger leader in your church, a discipling program. The walk to Emmaus comes from the story in Luke24:13-35 where Jesus joins two desciples on a walk from Jerusalem to Emmaus three days after his resurection. Jesus had disguised himself from his disciples and walked and talked with them. The disciples were so focused on their issues that they had missed that Jesus had to suffer everything before he could fufill his purpose. He finally revealed himself to them and the immediatly went back to Jerusalem to the other disciples.
I had to reasearch it because the not knowing what is going to happen this weekend is driving me crazy. Everyone does a pretty good job keeping the goings on at the walk pretty hush hush. For a control freak like me I am having to just surrender a little and know it will only be good things. Surrender is something I have had to do alot of in my life with Christ. You really can't recieve alot from God unless you are willing to surrender your life to him. Give up trying to control every little aspect yourself and let God handle it for you. He does a much better job. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. NLT
I will probably have more to write about after the fact. God bless everyone have a wonderful weekend :)

About Project New Creation
A blog is something that God has put on my mind awhile back. First of all I should introduce myself. My name is Christi and I love the Lord. I was saved when I was 8 but of course life happens. I always have had God In the back of my mind and had an on again off again relationship. Me and my husband were married almost 13 years ago, we have 2 precious boys. In 2009 my life had gone severely off track of God's plan and honestly I didn't care. My husband Travis ran away from God for a very long time and during this time renewed his life for Christ. I wanted nothing to do with God. I was about to end our marriage and destroy my family, I was done. God had different plans for us.
On November 16th 2009 God showed up in our home in a very real way. I rededicated my life to God and have been earnestly seeking him every since. 2 Corinthians 5:17 This means anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone and a new life has begun! NLT This scripture was my comfort. I embarked on a new journey a walk with God where old things are passed away. I was a new creation!!!! God restored my marriage, gave me some new amazing friends who were walking the same direction I was!!! I still am :) I get chills thinking about what God has done in my life!!! I have been called to make a difference in the lives of others through my testimony. As I was partway through this journey I sure wished on several occasions that I wish there was some place for new believers to share their struggles and this blog idea took form. I played around with the idea I guess it has been 4 months or longer and tonight while I couldn't sleep dealing with and issue in my life I have had difficulties with for a while I felt God told me there is no time like the present. So here we are.
My goal is to walk as closely in God's will as possible. I want a CLOSE relationship with God, not some flighty person who is a Christian only when it suites them. I want a real life relationship with God that I am in his glorious presence everyday. I want my life to shine with my love for God, for it to be known that I am God's servant by my actions, my speech, and my disposition. A closer walk with thee!!! So in this I want to help others in their walk, help heal wounds, help others through their struggles. I am no bible scholar, but I have a heart to help others and if in writing this can do that and glorify God I am game!
